Diary of Caroline N. Goodale kept at the West Newton (Mass.) State Teachers College where she trained to be a teacher. Goodale described each day's lessons, her peers, teachers, and special visitors, many of whom were educators from other states. Among the visitors were George B. Emerson and Horace Mann.
